GuideChannels & Tracking

Configure a channel and create a tracking link

Recognize a source across any promoted page on your site. Last updated 2026-10-05 4 min read

A channel is a site-scoped recognition rule. You can promote multiple pages with the same rule; there is no requirement to save a separate Campaign Link for each destination.

  1. Select the intended site and open Channels.
  2. Select Enable channel for a source template, or Add channel.
  3. For a custom channel, enter Channel name, Source parameter and Source value, then select Enable channel.
  4. Use Copy parameter to copy a pair such as jt_channel=exoclick.
  5. Append it to your promotion entry URL with ? or &, before any fragment. Alternatively, select Create tracking link, enter a destination URL and copy the generated link.
  6. Put that URL in the ad platform and keep the source parameter through landing-page redirects.

The optional link builder preserves other query parameters and fragments, replaces an existing value for this source parameter, and does not save the destination. The site's probe must run on the destination origin.

Existing tags and rule changes

You can reuse an existing utm_source or source parameter by configuring its exact name and value. Values match case-insensitively; parameter names must match exactly. Unconfigured UTM tags do not qualify a visit by themselves.

Use Channel recognition to pause or resume a custom rule. Edit channel changes its settings; changing the source pair requires updating promotion URLs. Delete channel removes recognition. Template traffic is recognized only after its rule is enabled.
